About Us
Hey!! I am Poonam Mahawar, the founder of Kidroots.
Let me take you to the place where the idea of Kidroots was born!!!
“Sometimes big ideas come from the tiniest voices — mine started with my 3-year-old niece.”
I was traveling through Kerala with my sister and 3-yr old niece. On the famous Elephant Safari-while watching tiny baby elephants walking along with their mothers, the sound of the jungle, the thrill of spotting them up close… it was such a magical moment. But in the middle of all that excitement, my niece was not exactly enjoying herself in her fancy frock. On the other hand, I was wearing a linen-cotton outfit designed by me, her experience was mixed with the heat of the safari and excitement for the animals. I could feel the difference right there — comfort really changes the way you enjoy a moment.
And that's when in her cute way she said "Maasi mere Liye Bhi Kuch Design karo na."
That one line hit me so deep. I smiled then, but it planted a seed in my heart.
Cut to today- I gathered the courage to leave being a women couture designer and enter a much cuter, much more magical world: the world of my niece, and all the little ones like her.
I started working on clothes that are not just adorable to look at, but also super comfy, breathable, and perfect for every adventure — from safaris to playdates! or almost a year, I researched fabrics, tested styles, and made sure everything I designed was child-approved (yes, lots of giggles, running, and jumping were involved in testing 😄).
While deciding the brand name and logo, those baby elephants were my first memory where it all began. Hence meet our mascot 🐘
So here I am, creating outfits — all with love, care, and natural fabrics. Clothes that let your little ones laugh louder and run faster, without ever worrying about itchy stitches or uncomfortable fits.
Hope you will love the outfits for your little ones!
Naming: Kidroots
Like every new business owner, I went through the classic struggle of finding “the perfect” brand name. I had pages of ideas — some too modern, some too fancy, and some that just didn’t feel like me.
I knew I wanted something rooted — something that carried a touch of India, a sense of comfort, and a feeling of being grounded. That’s where the word roots kept coming back to me. And when I paired it with kids, it just clicked — Kidroots.
Kids are all about beginnings, growth, and innocence… and “roots” connect back to comfort, culture, and staying grounded. Together, the name felt like home.
That’s how Kidroots was born — simple, soulful, and just perfect for my little dream.
